Orlando F. Cabanday is Of Counsel at Samuels, Green & Steel LLP. He is a senior trial attorney whose practice focuses on intellectual property and complex commercial litigation. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California in 1990 (magna cum laude) and his law degree in 1993 from the University of California at Davis School of Law (Order of the Coif). Mr. Cabanday passed the California certified public accountant exam and later obtained his CPA.

Orlando is a business litigation attorney, with an emphasis in intellectual property disputes. He has successfully represented clients in patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret, unfair competition and related intellectual property disputes. His reported decisions include the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals opinion in Watec v. Chia Liu 403 F. 3d 645 (9th Cir. 2005). Orlando has tried matters in federal and state courts throughout the nation, including trials in California, Arizona, Florida and Nevada. He is retained frequently by other attorneys to take pending lawsuits to trial. He has taken to verdict or bench decision over thirty-five contested matters, and has obtained over five multi-million dollar jury verdicts. Since joining the firm in 2010, Orlando has successfully tried three matters in state court, including his most recent case where he obtained a verdict, including attorneys' fees, of approximately $3 million.

Mr. Cabanday is a member of the bar of the State of California and is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the United States District Courts for the Central, Southern and Northern Districts of California. Orlando is active with the Los Angeles, Orange County and American Bar Associations, and has served as chairman of the Barristers Business Lawyers Group. He has written several articles on intellectual property and trial issues for the Urban Development League. Orlando has created moot trial programs, and has been recognized as a fellow by the Litigation Counsel of America; a Southern California Rising Star by Super Lawyers; and a leader in the field of intellectual property litigation by Chambers USA Who's Who.
